To capture beautiful imagery of wild birds, a photographer needs to know exactly what to look for. But when your motif is a natural talent in hiding and notoriously difficult to spot, photographers must turn to other senses than the sense of sight. Wild birds might be tricky to spot – but they’re not as difficult to hear.

That’s why Canon created a campaign that educates wildlife photographers on what to listen for rather than what to look for. We turned tactical ads into educational tools that help photographers identify birds before it catches their eye – simply by listening for their calls. Every ad became a mini guide to a specific species with video footage of the bird and the sound of its call.
